The federal cabinet approved the purchase of the corona vaccine

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet has approved purchase of vaccines to prevent corona virus, giving gold handshake to Pakistan Steel employees and privatization of various companies.

The Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the Federal Cabinet which approved the purchase of Corona virus vaccine and allocated 15 150 million for this purpose. The cabinet also approved a reduction in the cost of injections needed to treat corona.

The federal cabinet also approved the extension of the tenure of the executive director of the National Institute of Health and the license of the private airline Air Sial.
The Cabinet also approved the privatization of various institutions, including giving gold handshakes to the employees of Pakistan Steel Mills. At the meeting, the MQM opposed the privatization of the House Building Finance Corporation. MQM Federal Minister Aminul Haq said that House Building Finance Corporation is a for-profit organization which is providing facilities to the people as per the government’s manifesto.

The Cabinet was also briefed on New Pakistan Housing Authority, Ravi Urban Development and Bundle Island. The meeting discussed the issue of severing diplomatic relations with France on the issue of blasphemy as per the orders of the Islamabad High Court but no decision could be taken on it.

Briefing the federal cabinet on gas load management in winter, it was informed that in the first phase, supply to CNG stations will be cut off. Cabinet members stressed that the export sector and domestic consumers should be given priority in gas supply.

The Cabinet allowed the Ministry of Defense to sign a protocol of cooperation between Pakistan Navy Engineering College and Yildiz Technical University Turkey.

The Cabinet also approved the appointment of Muhammad Naeem Akhtar as the Chief Executive Officer of the Postal Life Insurance Company. A six-member committee was constituted on the summary of handing over the building of Islamabad Metropolitan Club to National College of Arts.

The Cabinet also approved the appointment of Brigadier (retd) Muhammad Tahir Ahmad Khan as Executive Director Frequency Allocation Board and appointment of experts on the Board of Governors under the Federal Medical Teaching Institute Ordinance 2020.
