In the fifth match of Pakistan Super League played at National Stadium, Karachi, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by 6 wickets. Peshawar team completed Multan’s target of 194 runs in the 19th over at a loss of 4 wickets.

Imam-ul-Haq and Kamran Akmal started the innings in pursuit of the target by Peshawar Zalmi. Both the openers put up a partnership of 57 runs but Kamran Akmal returned to the pavilion with 37 runs. Opener Imam-ul-Haq and one-down Tom Cadmore shared an aggressive 76-run stand, but Imam-ul-Haq was run out for 48, while Tom Cadmore completed a half-century and returned to the pavilion with 53 runs.
After the dismissal of Tom Cadmore, Shoaib Malik and Haider Ali put on an unbeaten 37-run stand off just 14 balls while Haider Ali scored 25 off just eight balls to help Peshawar reach the target in the 19th over. ۔

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmai won the toss and elected to bowl first against Multan Sultans. Chris Lin and Mohammad Rizwan started the innings for Multan. However, Chris Lin was dismissed for just one run. Venice and opener Mohammad Rizwan played aggressively and advanced the score.

A partnership of 82 runs was established between the two players after which Mohammad Rizwan returned to the pavilion with 41 runs. However, James Venus also formed an aggressive partnership of 71 runs with Sohaib Maqsood. Played an innings of 84 runs thanks to which Multan team managed to score 193 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
