PSL 6: Announcing the names of players retained before the draft

For the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), all the franchises have announced the names of the players retained in their respective teams for the next edition.

The sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League will start on February 20 and even before the drafting process for the league, all the six teams have announced the names of the players who have been retained in their respective teams and released.

Drafting for the sixth edition of the league will take place in Lahore tomorrow and that is why the franchises have released the list a day ago.

Defending champions Karachi Kings have retained Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir and Colin Ingram in the Platinum category, while captain Emad Wasim in Diamond, Amir Yameen in Gold, Sharjeel Khan, Waqas Maqsood in Silver and Arshad Iqbal in Emerging.

The Lahore Qalandars, who lost in the final of the last event, retained Muhammad Hafeez, Shaheen Shah Afridi in Platinum, Fakhr Zaman in Diamond, David Wesa, Haris Rauf, Ben Dunk and Dilbar Hussain in Gold while captain Sohail Akhtar remained in Silver category.

The Multan Sultans include Shahid Afridi and Riley Russo in the Platinum category, while Sohail Tanveer, Imran Tahir and Khushdal Shah got a place in the Diamond and James Vance, Shaun Masood and Usman Qadir made it to the Gold category.

2017 champion Peshawar Zalmi has retained five players in the squad, including Wahab Riaz and Shoaib Malik in Platinum, Kamran Akmal in Diamond and Liam Livingston and Haider Ali in Gold.

Quetta Gladiators retained captain Sarfraz Ahmed in platinum category, Ben Cutting, Mohammad Hasnain and Mohammad Nawaz in diamond, Azam Khan and Naseem Shah in gold and Zahid Mahmood and Anwar Ali in silver.

Islamabad United’s Platinum category includes Shadab Khan, Alex Hales, Colin Monroe, Fahim Ashraf in Diamond, Hussain Talat, Asif Ali in Gold and Musa Khan and Zafar Gohar in Silver.

It is worth mentioning here that before the drafting process, there was only one trade between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United in which Alex Hales went to Islamabad and Colin Ingram went to Karachi Kings.

When it comes to the players released by the teams, the league champions Karachi Kings have Ali Khan, Owais Zia, Cameron Delport, Chadwick Walton, Chris Jordan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mitchell McClelland, Mohammad Rizwan, Ameed Asif, Ameed Asif, Umar Khan and Osama Mir have been released.

Islamabad United has released Dale Steyn, Luke Ronki, Ahmed Safi Abdullah, Emad Butt, Akif Javed, Rasi Van Der Dawson, Rizwan Hussain, Saif Badr Phil Salt and Roman Raees.

Lahore Qalandars have released Abid Ali, Agha Salman, Chris Lane, Dan Velas, Salman Butt, Salman Irshad, Sekigo Prasna, Samit Patel and Usman Shinwari.

Multan Sultans released Asad Shafiq, Bilawal Bhatti, Fabian Allen, Moin Ali, Van Madsen, Jind Khan, Muhammad Irfan, Rohail Nazir, Ravi Bopara and Zeeshan Ashraf.

Peshawar Zalmai has Hassan Ali, Aamir Khan, Amir Ali, Hamad Azam, Imam-ul-Haq, Carlos Braithwaite, Louis Gregory, Liam Dawson, Muhammad Mohsin, Sikandar Raza, Tom Benton, Umar Amin, Yasir Shah, Rahat Ali, Yasir Shah and Kieron Pollard. Has been released.
