One in five people may experience severe corona disease, research shows

One in five people worldwide suffers from some form of the disease and is therefore at high risk of contracting the new Corona virus.

This was revealed in a new medical study.

The study, which analyzed data from 188 countries, found that 22% of the world’s population, or 1.7 billion people, needed additional precautions because their bodies were infected with the new corona virus. But Code 19 can be serious.

The team of international experts said that 4% of them or about 350 million people may need to be hospitalized.

The study was published in The Lancet Global Health Journal.

Andrew Clark, an associate professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine involved in the study, said that at a time when countries around the world were emerging from lockdowns, governments needed to look at ways to protect the most vulnerable from the virus. ۔

“We expect that our estimates will be a useful starting point for taking steps to protect those most at risk,” he said. This may include precautionary measures for people already suffering from the disease, such as adopting social distance measures appropriately or giving them priority for future vaccinations.

Factors that exacerbate COD 19 include heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, and respiratory diseases.

The researchers said their research focused on chronic diseases and did not include other potential factors that could increase the severity of Code 19.

The researchers said that the incidence of a single disease could be lower in countries where the majority of the population is young, for example in Africa, the incidence of one or more diseases is 16 per cent, while In Europe it is 31%.

But researchers warn that the threat of corona virus in Africa cannot be ruled out.

He said the risk of epilepsy in Africa was lower than in any other region because of its high youth population, but also the death rate in more severe cases than anywhere else. Most can be.

Less than 5% of people under the age of 20 worldwide suffer from a single disease, with the risk of developing code 19 being even higher.

According to the study, an estimated 23% of people between the ages of 15 and 64 suffer from at least one disease, although the rate is almost the same in men and women, but the researchers said that cod 19 in men is hospitalized. The risk of getting there is twice as high.

The risk of getting hospitalized as a result of code 19 is less than 1% in men under 20 years of age and about 20% in men 70 or older.

Men under the age of 65 are twice as likely as men to reach the hospital.
