Abu Dhabi: Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 15 runs after an interesting match.
Batting first in the sixth edition of Pakistan Super League in Abu Dhabi, Islamabad United scored the highest total of 247 runs in the history of PSL thanks to Usman Khawaja’s century in the allotted 20 overs. He scored 232 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

Hazratullah Zazai from Peshawar Zalmai returned to the pavilion without opening the account on the first ball after which Imam-ul-Haq could also score only 7 runs but Kamran Akmal batted aggressively and scored a half century. He was dismissed for 53 off 32 balls.

Shoaib Malik scored a half-century. He was dismissed for an aggressive 68 off 36 balls with three sixes and six fours. Roman Powell returned to the pavilion after playing an offensive innings of 29 off 14 balls and Sherfan Rutherford.
Ameed Asif remained unbeaten on 20 and Wahab Riaz on 28. Aqif Javed took 3 wickets, Hussain Talat 2 wickets and Hassan Ali 1 wicket for Islamabad.

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmai captain Wahab Riaz decided to field first after winning the toss. From Islamabad United, Usman Khawaja and Colin Monroe gave the team an aggressive start of 98 runs, Monroe was dismissed for 47 runs in the innings.

Asif Ali also played an aggressive innings of 43 off 14 balls which included 5 sixes and 2 fours while Usman Khawaja scored his first century in PSL. He remained unbeaten on 105 off 56 balls. Brendon King scored 46 off 22 balls.
Samin Gul and Shoaib Malik took one wicket each for Peshawar Zalmai.
