I feel insecure in my own country, Ayesha Omar

A day ago, a woman was waiting for help when her car broke down near Gujjarpura on her way to Gujranwala from Lahore, the capital of Punjab.

The woman was raped by ‘robbers’ while she was waiting for help in her car with children.

The woman’s car was stopped for unknown reasons and she also informed her relatives in Gujranwala.

However, before the helpers could be found, two armed men saw the woman alone and took her to a nearby field with their children at gunpoint and gang-raped her there.

Anger was expressed across the country after the incident and the government was also arrested on social media and demanded that the accused be arrested and hanged in public.

Many important personalities also expressed their grief and anger over this incident and well known actress Ayesha Omar is also among such personalities.

Ayesha Omar expressed regret over the gang rape of a single woman on the way and wrote in her tweet that she does not feel safe in her own country due to such incidents.

Ayesha Omar wrote in her tweet that what happens when a woman has to leave the house at night in an emergency and what happens when a woman needs emergency medical help?

The actress further wrote that in any foreign country of the world, she considers herself safe even if she goes out alone at one o’clock in the morning and walks on the road, but she considers herself insecure within her own country.

Ayesha Omar wrote that even if she was in her own car in her own country, she would still feel insecure.

The actress also used the hashtag Motorway Incident.

It may be recalled that the gang-rape of a woman waiting for help on the motorway took place at a time when a minor girl was killed after being raped in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province.

An eunuch was also killed in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Taking note of the gang of a woman waiting for help on the motorway and the incident of rape and murder of a girl in Karachi, Prime Minister Imran Khan has also ordered the authorities to submit a report as soon as possible and arrest the accused.

However, 48 to 24 hours after the two incidents, police did not make any arrests
