Experts warn of new strain of corona virus

Experts say little is known about the new N501Y mutation, a new strain of the corona virus discovered in the UK, and no idea how fast it could spread.

As of December 20, 18 European countries have imposed restrictions on the arrival of flights from the UK or strict quarantine, while Saudi Arabia has also banned international flights.

Leading German virologist Christine Drosten said she expects the new species to be circulating in Germany, but not much is known about it.

He said that the sensory data about this new type of corona virus, N501Y, is not yet clear.

He asserted that his confession had been obtained through torture and that his confession had been obtained through torture.

“The question is whether the new strain of the virus is the result of a new wave of viruses in the south-east of the UK, or whether it is the same strain that caused the new wave,” said Christine Dorstein.

He added that the new species has also been seen in other countries, such as the Netherlands, where it does not seem to have spread very fast.

Vincent Enoff of the French Institute Pastor said that so far no connection has been found between this new type and the rapid spread in Britain.

“We have been told that the virus is spreading rapidly in some parts of the UK, but is it the result of virus super-spreader events or a new species?” All this needs to be confirmed.

The Dutch government on Sunday confirmed a case involving the new strain and indicated that the strain may have been spreading in the country for some time.

According to Ab Osterhaus, a professor of virology at the University of Erasmus in the Netherlands, this new species does not seem to be spreading rapidly in the Netherlands.

“There are some areas where the rate of such cases has risen sharply, but I don’t know if there is any explanation,” he said.

Bert Hogg Mans, another epidemiologist at Erasmus Medical Center, said: “It is difficult to determine the link between the types and spread of the virus. ? ‘

Marion Copemans, head of the Erasmus Department of Virus Science, said there were cases that suggested the new strain was more contagious, but more research was needed.

He added that there was already a lockdown in the Netherlands, which helped prevent such an outbreak.

In Italy, a woman who recently returned from London has been diagnosed with this new type.

Italian Health Minister Roberto Esperanza said: “If the virus could arrive from Wuhan without notice, why shouldn’t Pum be concerned about this new strain, which may already be present in Rome, Venice and other parts?” ‘

Massimo Galliachi, an epidemiologist at the University of Milan in Italy, said it was possible that “we are facing a type that is not very dangerous, but has the potential to spread, but more research is needed before a claim can be made.” ۔

The new corona virus was discovered in the UK in mid-December and the World Health Organization was notified on December 19 that the new corona virus was spreading faster than others.

Sir Patrick Valence, the British government’s chief scientific officer, did not provide figures for the new type of spread, but called it VUI 202012/01, saying it was spreading rapidly.

The new strain contains 23 different genetic mutations, most of them related to the parts of the virus that help the virus attach to human cells, he said.

He said the new strain first appeared in September, resulting in 28% of new cases in London in mid-November, up from 62% by December 9.

The World Health Organization has instructed European countries to take steps to prevent a new outbreak in the UK.

A spokesman for the World Health Organization’s Europe office told AFP: “The spread of the virus has increased across Europe. Countries need to improve their disease control and prevention strategies.”

“This new type is a combination of changes that we think are important,” said Sir Patrick.

He added that there was no evidence that the new species was more dangerous, but for some reason it appeared to alter the human immune response.

“We need to be vigilant in this regard,” he added.
