Eating one egg a day can reduce the risk of heart disease

Beijing: Is egg good or bad for heart? It’s been a long debate but now there is some evidence that eating one egg a day is good for the heart and can cure heart disease.

According to a report published in the research journal E-Life, eating one egg a day can be beneficial for the heart. In this regard, in 2018, half a million people in China were studied. It was found that eating one egg a day reduces the number of biomarkers that cause heart disease in the body. However, experts called for more research.

Now, scientists at Peking University have conducted a new study in this regard which can be called a survey. They looked at data from 4,778 people at the Biobank of China, of which 3,401 had heart disease and the remaining 1,377 were healthy. Scientists took 225 metabolites (plasma metabolite chemicals) and plasma into their bloodstream with a relatively new technology called ‘Targeted Nuclear Magnetic Resonance’. All these items were stained with blood. It was found that 24 identified metabolites were associated with eating eggs and participants also confessed to eating eggs.

Egg-eaters had higher levels of the protein apolipoprotein A1, a key component of HDL cholesterol, which is called ‘good’ cholesterol. Then there were those who did not eat eggs or ate less, but their number of useful metabolites in the body was low and those who ate eggs were found to have a lot of them.

Thus, 14 egg-related metabolites or chemical components were found to be useful and have the ability to prevent heart disease.

Experts have called on the Chinese government to include eggs in its diet. According to him, the majority of Chinese people do not eat a single egg a day, which is very important.
