Domestic violence in childhood can lead to sudden death in adolescence

Eastern Australia: If a child is subjected to excessive domestic violence, neglect and all forms of abuse, especially at an early age, the risk of dying at an earlier age is twice as high as that of other children. ۔

The first and most comprehensive study of its kind found that 15 to 50 percent of children in different countries and societies around the world are neglected by their own families and subjected to severe abuse. Parents have a significant role to play in this.

After this situation, the child stays away from education, goes astray and is addicted to drugs, commits crimes, is unable to balance relationships and finds it difficult to find employment. All of these factors affect his psychological, physical and mental condition. It affects the whole personality and can lead to death.
Experts at the University of South Australia examined the trend of 331,000 young boys and girls born after 1986, 20 per cent of whom were sponsored under the Child Protection Program. In this long study, 980 people, aged 16 to 33, passed away.

Among the dead, alcohol abuse, poisoning, mental and psychological problems were five times higher than others, while those under government protection did not show this trend and continued to improve. Although this is an important study, no one has paid attention to it so far.

The study found that people with severe childhood abuse and mistreatment had twice the risk of dying prematurely. Thus, children who are sponsored by government orphanages due to extreme cruelty are four times more likely to die prematurely if left unattended.

In their research, the scientists have appealed to the government, parents, teachers and all sensitive people in the society to treat the children better and work together to make them better members of the society. Experts call it a challenge for all societies and countries in the world.
