Corona diagnostic test ready in less than 5 minutes

PCR tests to diagnose COD 19, a disease caused by the novice coronavirus worldwide, result in hours.

This test, based on the diagnosis of the presence of the virus by extracting the material from the nose and analyzing it, is also quite expensive and most countries have difficulty in obtaining test kits.

That’s why scientists around the world are working to develop new tests for early diagnosis of Code 19 that are cheaper and more readily available.

Scientists at the University of Oxford in the UK have now developed a Code 19 test that can detect the corona virus in less than 5 minutes.

According to Reuters, Oxford University researchers said the test could be used for large-scale testing at airports and businesses.

The British university expects to start manufacturing the testing device in early 2021, while the approved device will be available 6 months later.

According to the results of the pre-printed research conducted by the researchers, this device is capable of recognizing the corona virus among other viruses.

“Our method detects virus particles instantly. The test is simple, fast and low cost,” said Achilles Copandez, a professor of physics at Oxford University.

Rapid antigen tests are being seen as the key to large-scale testing and economic recovery.

Various tests of this type are still used in different countries that provide faster results and lower costs, but their results are not as reliable as molecular PCR tests.

Along with Oxford University, on October 14, Siemens Health Nears, a German company, also announced the introduction of Rapid Antigen Gen Test Kit in Europe for the diagnosis of corona virus.

However, the company said the industry could face difficulties due to rising demand.

The Oxford University kit will be ready next year, but experts expect the test to help control the epidemic next winter.

Medical experts have already warned that the world must be prepared to live with the corona virus, despite a vaccine being developed against the disease.

Dr. Nicole Robb of Warwick Medical School, who was part of the team that developed the new Oxford test, said: This can lead to unpredictable effects.

“We have proven that our tests can identify corona viruses between different viruses in chemical samples. This test will be important in the next stage of the epidemic,” he said.
