Case of making video in mosque: Court confirms bail of Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed

The Lahore Sessions Court has upheld the bail of actress Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed in a case of shooting of a song at Wazir Khan Mosque and stopped the police from arresting them.

In this regard, Additional Sessions Judge Chaudhry Qasim Ali heard the petition of actress Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed.

Singer Bilal Saeed and actress Saba Qamar also appeared in court during the hearing.

It may be recalled that a case was registered against them at Akbari Gate police station for shooting at Wazir Khan Mosque.

Earlier in the hearing on August 26, both the accused did not appear before the court due to security concerns and their lawyer had stated that the lives of both the stars were in danger and therefore the court had to grant the apology. Give the order

The court adjourned the hearing on the plea of Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed till the next hearing and extended their interim bail till September 3.

During today’s (September 3) hearing, the lawyer for Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed argued that the recording was made at the Wazir Khan Mosque with the permission of the endowment department.

The lawyer said that a fee of Rs 30,000 was also paid to the department for permission to record.

At the same time, the lawyer told the court that accused Bilal Saeed had also sought an unconditional apology on social media over the Wazir Khan case.

He asked the court to grant bail to Bilal Saeed and Saba Qamar.

Later, Additional Sessions Judge Chaudhry Qasim Ali granted bail to both the accused.

The court restrained the police from arresting Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed and said that the trial court would decide on their acquittal or punishment.

It may be recalled that Bilal Saeed and Saba Qamar’s song ‘Qabul’ was released on August 12, which did not include scenes filmed at the historic Wazir Khan Mosque in Lahore.

Earlier, a short teaser of the song was released, in which the two were seen performing the marriage ceremony at the Wazir Khan Mosque.

However, a short video clip of the teaser was sharply criticized by social media users, who accused Bilal Saeed and Saba Qamar of dancing in the mosque and playing music in the background.

Following such allegations, a petition was also filed in the Lahore Sessions Court seeking action against them, on which the court had ordered to file a case against them after a preliminary hearing.

After strong public criticism, the two apologized for having a photoshoot in the mosque, explaining that they did not dance in the Wazir Ali Khan Mosque, nor did they play music in the background during the scenes shot in the mosque.

At the same time, both of them had announced to remove the scenes shot in the mosque from the song and the song released later did not include any scenes shot in the mosque.
