A glass of milk daily, to get rid of heart disease

Melbourne, Australia: Although this is strange news, a survey of millions of people has found that regular consumption of milk lowers harmful cholesterol and reduces the risk of heart disease.

The new study covers 2 million people. Although milk drinkers are high in body fat, the levels of harmful cholesterol remain low and the risk of heart disease is inevitably reduced. But the full scientific reason for this has not been revealed because we digest milk in a slightly different way.

According to a lengthy study published in the International Journal of Obesity on May 24, scientists at the University of Reading, the University of South Australia and the University of Auckland have looked at data on about 2 million people in the UK. It looks at the genetic level of people who drink milk. They have observed that due to a genetic mutation, they digest lactose and as a result, they develop the habit of drinking milk.
Although the habit of drinking milk causes an increase in body mass index (BMI), it also lowers both good and bad cholesterol. Overall, drinking milk reduces the risk of heart disease by up to 14%. Interestingly, even though milk is a high-fat diet, it does not cause heart disease. That is, it is not as dangerous as red meat.

Experts say that milk may contain an unseen chemical compound that helps keep the heart healthy. On the other hand, it also relieves the narrowing of veins and arteries.
