The service to provide blue ticks on Twitter for a monthly fee was suspended after a few days

Twitter suspended the $8-a-month BlueTick service just days after it was introduced.

The feature of providing blue ticks for $8 per month on Twitter was introduced last week on November 7 in the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

The said feature was initially given access to limited users, however it was completely suspended after a large number of fake accounts were verified.

The American magazine “Forbes” said that the feature of providing blue ticks to all accounts for a monthly fee of $8 was suspended on November 11.

The feature was introduced on November 7 and within days dozens of fake accounts were being blue-ticked for a fee, forcing the company to suspend the feature.

In this regard, the technology website Engjet said that although Twitter has not officially issued any statement regarding the said feature, the new feature has not been working since November 11.

The report suggested that the BlueTick-for-money feature may not be working on iPhones only initially, as it was initially offered to iPhone users.

On the other hand, Reuters reported that the suspended fee feature is likely to be reintroduced after a week.

The report stated that dozens of fake accounts were also verified after the introduction of the fee feature, after which the said feature was immediately suspended.

Elon Musk also responded to one person on Twitter saying that the monthly fee feature will be reintroduced by next week.

Twitter’s plan to provide BlueTick to all accounts for a monthly fee was revealed last week and was initially rolled out in a few countries.

Earlier there were reports that a fee of $8 per month will be charged to accounts whose accounts are verified.

The charge on Twitter was launched by Elon Musk, the microblogging website’s new owner, who took control of it on October 28.

Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion in April 2022 and claims that Twitter is currently losing money and needs to charge users $8 a month to cover the loss.

Elon Musk is also being criticized for charging $8 a month, but he is adamant that he will continue to charge the fee.
