Lahore: Shoaib Akhtar has claimed that talks are underway with the PCB for the post of chief selector.
In an interview with YouTube channel “Cricketer”, Shoaib Akhtar said, “I will not deny it. Talks are underway with my board.” Can’t say more than that but no decision has been made yet.
He said that I am living a comfortable life, I also played cricket on my own terms, I want to create a pool of cricketers who play aggressively and fearlessly for Pakistan, for which I am ready to leave comfort and play with fire. I am not greedy for money or job, I will listen to any suggestion from anyone in this job, I will also give time to my responsibility for the desired results.
Informing about his plan, the former speed star said that he would try to produce 15 cricketers who could be called brand and star. Their mindset should be like Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram and Mushtaq Ahmed, who consider themselves safe and win matches for Pakistan with their performance, I also suggest Misbah-ul-Haq to change his mindset, 2 or 3 more Haider Ali in the team. Like give batsmen a chance to play.
On the other hand, when asked about the talks with Shoaib Akhtar for the post of chief selector, PCB media director Samiul Hassan Burney said that he was not aware of any progress in this regard.
