Pakistan-England second Test match ends in a draw due to rain

The second Test of the series between Pakistan and England ended in a draw after being affected by rain, while England had scored 110 runs for 4 wickets on the last day.

The match played in Southampton was affected by continuous rain and the game could not be completed.

The fifth and final day of the match was also delayed due to rain and after the lunch break, England added 90 runs for the second wicket.

Zack Crowley was dismissed for 53, after which Dom Sable scored 32 for 92, while Oli Pope also fell victim to Yasir Shah for 9 off 105 runs.

When the match was decided to end in a draw, England had scored 110 runs for 4 wickets.

Joe Root was playing with 9 runs while Jose Butler did not open the account.

For Pakistan, Muhammad Abbas took 2 wickets, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Yasir Shah took one wicket each.

Muhammad Rizwan was declared the best player of the match.

Earlier in the Southampton Test, only 96.2 overs were possible in 4 days and Pakistan were bowled out for 236 in their first innings.

Yesterday, Shaheen Shah Afridi had dismissed England opener Rory Burns for one run after which England batted for 5 overs.

England had scored 7 for one before the fourth day’s play ended prematurely due to rain.

Dom Sibley 2 and Zac Crowley 5 were playing but the game ended at 3:51 local time.

Umpires have also been criticized around the world for adhering to bad lighting rules.

Earlier, Pakistan ended their innings on the fourth day and scored 236 runs, including a responsible 72-run innings by Mohammad Rizwan who played aggressively with Naseem Shah in the last wicket.

Opener Abid Ali made a big partnership with Azhar Ali and played an individual innings of 60 runs.

Babar Azam also scored 47 runs on a difficult wicket while Azhar Ali scored 20 runs. Apart from him, other batsmen could not cross double digits.

Stuart Broad bowled brilliantly for England while he was also fined for insulting Yasir Shah in the first match.

Stuart Broad bowled 4 Pakistani batsmen and remained the successful bowler of his team.

It should be noted that England has won the first match by 3 wickets and has taken a 1-0 lead in the series.
