More than 6.5 million tick-tock videos deleted from Pakistan in 6 months

TikTak is one of the most popular social media apps in the world, with countless videos uploaded daily.

But a large number of these videos are based on violations of the company’s rules, which is why more than 105 million videos were deleted between January and June 2020 for violating the rules.

The company’s semi-annual transparent report revealed that more than twice as many videos were deleted from the app during the first half of this year as compared to July-December 2019.

Surprisingly, more than 100 million videos came from less than one percent of TikTak accounts.

Like YouTube, TuckTalk relies heavily on cleanup technology that monitors, flags, and removes video.

The company deleted the most videos in India with more than 36.8 million, followed by the United States with 9.82 million.

Pakistan ranks third on the list, with more than 6.554 million videos deleted by TuckTalk, more than 5.5 million in Brazil and more than 2.9 million in the UK.

According to the company, more than 90% of the videos were deleted before any viewing, 3 out of 10 videos that violated the policy contained sexual activity and 22.3% related to child protection.

The company said in July that a new content system was introduced late last year to make it easier to delete more transparent and reported videos.

When a video violates the company’s rules, it is labeled a policy violation and then removed.

During the last half of last year, requests were received from various countries for data on Tik Tak users, out of which 6 were submitted by Pakistan.

Tik Tak also received 175 requests from Pakistan to remove videos or block content.

The report comes as the company is conducting an internal investigation after a video of a suicide during a Facebook live stream went viral in the app.

To overcome this problem, Vanessa Papas, the acting chief executive of TTalk in the United States, sent letters to nine social media companies proposing to create a common platform to instantly inform each other about such content.
