Misbah-ul-Haq regrets not winning Test and T20 series against England

Lahore: Chief selector and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq has said that he is sorry for not winning the Test and T20 series against England.

Speaking to media at Gaddafi Stadium, head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq said he regretted not winning the T20 series after the Tests. It will be a pity to lose the series. He said that 30 players left unprepared, but the overall performance was slightly better, while the international media called our team a supporting team, which is a positive thing.

Misbah-ul-Haq said that we also brought Haider Ali, the seniors were coming showing good performance, they could not play before because of Haider’s batting number, Hafeez gave him a chance when he appeared in confidence. He said that it is said in T20 that Pakistan does not have fire power, we scored above 190 in 2 matches, we are moving towards improvement but things will get better gradually.
The head coach said that there is room for improvement in everything. Overall, our vision is to invest in young players. Despite the way we are playing cricket, the results are not in our favor. He said that he was very busy in England, as a selector he could not look after domestic affairs in the country, he would sit down with Nadeem Khan and discuss matters now, it was also necessary to appoint coaches to start the domestic season.

To a question, Misbah-ul-Haq said that the main role of Pakistan cricket team to go up was the role of Shadab, Fakhr, Hassan. After the injuries of the top performers, the team’s morale went down. Inexperience in the team can also be a factor that will improve over time, there are small flaws that need to be fixed, when the results are not in your favor, it is natural to regret, always when we are in the lead. If it was, it would rain.

The chief selector said that Babar Azam is powerful, he makes his own decisions as captain, Mohammad Amir was fielded as a senior with 2 young bowlers while the performance of Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Wahab is such that they can run till the World Cup. Yes, 40 years of age does not matter while the best 15 will be in front of us till the World Cup
