Haron’s fighting skills
In the military, Aaron was a valiant soldier who showed the essence of his bravery when his father was caliph. He later commanded an army of 95,000 against the Byzantine Empire, which was then under Queen Erin. After defeating Erin’s well-known General Nektus, Aaron’s army encamped in Crisopoulos (now Oscodar, Turkey), in the Asian part just opposite Constantinople.
When the queen saw that the Muslim forces were about to take over the city, she sent ambassadors for a treaty, but Aaron refused to accept all the conditions, demanding an immediate surrender. An ambassador is said to have said that the queen has heard a lot about your abilities as a general, even though you are her enemy, but she values you as a soldier. Aaron was pleased with these words and told the ambassadors to tell their queen that if she continued to give us 70,000 ashrafs annually, no Muslim army would harm Constantinople. And 40,000 of its soldiers were killed.
Despite agreeing to pay the tribute, the Roman emperor again withdrew, at which time Aaron Rashid ordered his assassination and once again invaded the Roman Empire, but at the same time a revolt broke out in a city in the Abbasid Empire. He set out to crush it but died of an illness. He will be buried in Tus
