Graeme Smith happy to cricket return in Pakistan

Lahore: Graeme Smith is happy to return to international cricket in Pakistan.

Cricket South Africa director Graeme Smith was part of the last South African team to visit Pakistan in 2007. In a statement issued by the PCB, he said that the Pakistani nation is very attached to cricket. That now teams from many countries are visiting Pakistan, now South Africa will also be counted in those countries.

“I have visited Pakistan more than once and I know very well how passionate the fans are for cricket,” he said. A large number of Proteas fans were seen cheering there, so the experience of South Africa as a guest team was excellent, hopefully cricket will be in the best atmosphere this time as well.
Graeme Smith said that he was grateful to the PCB for hosting the cricket South African security delegation that visited Pakistan a few weeks ago. Looking forward to the start of a memorable tour.

It may be recalled that South Africa has given full support to Pakistan in various matters including revival of international cricket. In October 2017, 5 Proteas cricketers including captain Faf Dupleix were included in the World XI to play 3 T20 matches in Lahore. He was instrumental in accelerating the journey of revival of international cricket.

Faf had recently talked to “Cricket Pakistan” and refreshed his fond memories of his visit to Pakistan.
