The Prime Minister said that when we initially developed, Tarbela and Mangla dams were built and Pakistan’s industry started to build on cheap electricity but in the 90’s when decisions were made to generate electricity on imported fuel, the first loss would have been this. That the current account goes into deficit.

He said that when the current account goes into deficit, ie less dollars come into the country and more go abroad, as soon as the deficit increases, the rupee starts falling. When the rupee started falling, the dollar was 5 rupees and today see where it has reached. Is.

Continuing, he said that when our government came, there was the largest current account deficit of ارب 20 billion in the history of Pakistan, which meant increasing pressure on the rupee, which increased the dollar and depreciated the rupee. ۔

The Prime Minister said that when we made wrong decisions ie imported furnace oil, it started putting pressure on our currency. As the rupee depreciates, the prices of imported goods start going up and inflation goes up.

He said that when inflation rises, the poorest people are affected, poverty starts increasing and the country does not have enough power to import goods and install machinery as everything becomes more expensive.
