Corona virus, another blow to Samsung’s smartphones

The epidemic of the new novel Corona virus has hit the smartphone industry hard and almost all the companies are facing various difficulties.

A few weeks ago, Samsung, the world’s largest mobile phone seller, decided to cut production by 50 percent as a result of the epidemic.

According to a report by Samsung Mobile, Samsung plans to make 10 million smartphones by April 2020, which may seem like a lot but very little in terms of the company.

In fact, Samsung makes about 25 million smartphones a month, and cutting that number to 10 million is a huge cut.

Now another report has revealed that the South Korean company has also reduced the order of spare parts by 50% after a 50% reduction in the production of smartphones.

According to the report, the 50 per cent decline indicates that the smartphone market will not be able to rise again soon and this new initiative will affect phones from entry level to flagship.

Sales of Samsung’s new flagship Galaxy S20C phones have been severely affected by the Corona virus, and this effect could last for months as lockdowns in most countries have reduced people’s incomes.

According to the report, there are still several phones manufactured in March that could not be sold in the market, while the company had to close its factories in Slovakia, South Korea, Brazil and India.

Delivery of new phones to different countries has not been easy due to travel restrictions.

The report said that if conditions improved next month, production could increase again, depending on the spread of the virus.
