New Delhi: Indian Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has indicated that the corona vaccination will start any day in January next year.
According to Indian media, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said in an interview that the trial of the locally developed corona vaccine is in its final stages and we want the vaccine to be fully tested to be safe and effective so there is some delay in vaccination.
Responding to a question, the Indian health minister said he was hopeful of starting corona vaccination any week in January and that the vaccine would initially be given to the army and medical personnel, while within seven months 300 million Individuals plan to be vaccinated
Health Minister Harsh Vardhan revealed that nine locally developed corona vaccines are being tested in the country, of which six are in the clinical trial phase and three are in the pre-clinical phase.
Earlier, Dr Sanjay Rao, head of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, had claimed that the “co-vaccine” of India Biotech and the “cove shield” of the Serum Institute of India would be available in February.
It may be recalled that Dr. Balaram Bhargava, head of the Indian Council of Medical Research, had claimed in July that the nation would be given the gift of corona vaccine on India’s National Day, August 15, 2020, which was ridiculed by Indian experts, including the World Health Organization.
It should be noted that corona vaccination has been started in many countries including UK, USA, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain and many other countries will start the process of vaccinating their citizens from next January.
