Tehran: Iranian hackers protesting against Mehsa Amini’s death hacked the official channel ‘IRIB’ and broadcast messages against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei during the live bulletin.
According to foreign media, protests against the death of Mehsa Amini during the detention of the moral police spread to the personality of Supreme Leader Khamenei.
Iran’s state-run TV channel was apparently hacked on Saturday when Ayatollah Khamenei was speaking live during the 6 o’clock news bulletin when a mask suddenly appeared on the screen and then the supreme leader’s face, the report said. Flames began to appear around the image.
The group of hackers called themselves ‘Adalat-e-Ali’, which was also seen on the screen, with a picture of the Iranian leader being shot in the face and three other women with Mehsa Amini below. Photographs were also shown of those killed in recent protests.
A message on the screen read ‘Join us and raise your voice’, while another message said ‘the blood of our youth is spilling at your hands’ as well as ‘women, life and freedom’. ‘ slogans were echoing.
It should be noted that Mehsa Amini was detained by Tehran’s ‘Morality Police’ for allegedly not covering her hair properly, during which her condition worsened and she was transferred to the hospital where she died on September 16 after being in a coma for three days.
