After national team captain Babar Azam, now fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and all-rounder Emad Wasim have also signed a contract with England’s League T20 Blast.
Shaheen Shah Afridi will represent Hampshire in the league while Emad Wasim will represent Nottinghamshire.
Hampshire has been in constant touch with national team fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi through his agent since the announcement of the T20 Blast schedule.
However, now the fast bowler has shown his availability for the remaining 7 matches and if the team qualifies for the knockout matches, Shaheen will also represent there.
The Hampshire team has lost Kyle Abbott and Fidel Edwards due to travel restrictions, while Liam Dawson has been ruled out of the event due to injury and the availability of a Pakistani fast bowler is a good omen for them.
Hampshire won the first match of the event on Monday and Shaheen Shah Afridi will make his county debut against Surrey on Wednesday.
Unlike Shaheen Shah Afridi, however, Emad Wasim did not have a formal contract or contact with Nottinghamshire but represented the county team in seven matches last year.
Last year, Emad Waseem took 10 wickets representing the county in seven matches, including the key wicket of AB de Villiers in the quarter-finals.
He represented Nottinghamshire in today’s match against Lancashire within 24 hours after the T20 match against England yesterday.
Before these two players, captain Babar Azam had also signed a contract with Somerset for 7 matches.
