Abid Ali narrowly escaped a major injury during the practice match

National cricket team batsman Abid Ali escaped a major injury despite being hit by a ball during a practice match in England.

During the Pakistan team’s practice match in Derby, Abid Ali, who was fielding at Sly Point, was hit by a powerful shot by Haider Ali on his helmet.

A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman said that Abid Ali had lost consciousness for some time but was given medical treatment on the ground. He is fine now and there is no danger.

He said that Abid Ali was shifted to the ambulance in the ground on a stretcher where all the medical arrangements were available in the ground in view of the bio-security.

Dr. Abid of the national team said that “Abid is fine and after rest he will start training from Wednesday”.

He said that a precautionary CT scan was also done and the result was good.

On the other hand, according to the PCB, young all-rounder Khushdal Shah was ruled out for three weeks after injuring his left thumb during a practice match.

Khushdal Shah suffered an injury while batting and will not participate in the ongoing four-day practice match.

The PCB said Khushdal Shah would not be available for the four-day practice match between July 24 and July 27.

It may be recalled that in the ongoing practice match in Derby, under the leadership of Babar Azam, Team White scored 249 runs in the first innings, in which Muhammad Rizwan remained unbeaten on 54 runs.

Naseem Shah of Team Green, led by Azhar Ali, bowled well and took 5 wickets.

In their first innings, Team Green bowled Sohail Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi for just 181 runs.

In the second innings, Team White scored 220 for 5 on the third day and Mohammad Rizwan was on the crease with 62 runs.

Captain Babar Azam has been dismissed for 58 and Haider Ali for 51
