ISLAMABAD: The countdown to the first edition of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL 2021) has now begun as the KPL Draft event was held on July 3 in the Pakistani capital Islamabad in which all six franchise owners On the other hand, members of the think tank affiliated to the team also participated. The aim of this effort was to select the best and balanced team so that it could be given the inaugural title of the Kashmir Premier League.
The red carpet ceremony started at 5:30 pm with the participation of eminent personalities from various walks of life. They included Kashmir Committee Chairman Shahriar Khan Afridi, Senator Faisal Javed, KPL President Arif Malik, and KPL CEO Shehzad Chaudhry. Apart from the legendary players, Wasim Akram (Vice President, KPL), Shahid Afridi (Brand Ambassador), Inzamam-ul-Haq, Shoaib Malik, Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul, Umar Amin and Abdul Razzaq also graced the occasion with their participation. ۔
On this important occasion, the distinguished guests shared their views with the media and expressed their warmth and happiness over the organization of this important league which is the only league in the world of cricket where Kashmir has been represented for the first time.
Director Cricket Operations KPL, Timur Ali Khan delivered the welcome address. He told how the young talent of Kashmir would be made known to the whole world through the league. KPL Vice President Wasim Akram was the first guest of honor at the event who spoke to the participants, followed by another legend, Shahid Afridi, who is also KPL’s brand ambassador.
Both the great players emphasized the importance of KPL, calling it a step towards a developed and better Kashmir. He also appreciated the management of KPL for organizing this important event.
Senator Faisal Khan and the head of the parliamentary committee, Shahriar Khan Afridi, also congratulated all the organizers and called it a revolutionary process for Kashmir. The two gentlemen not only supported the Kashmir Premier League but also assured it of permanent support from the government at every step.
Soon after, the player auction started and all the franchises were busy selecting their favorite players for different categories. These categories included Overseas, Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver and Emerging. Rawla Kot Hawks captain Shahid Afridi and Muzaffarabad captain Muhammad Hafeez are the other teams in KPL 2021. Shoaib Malik is Shoaib Malik. Fakhrazman has been appointed as the captain of Kotli Lions, Shadab Khan is the captain of Bagh Stallions and Emad Wasim is the captain of Overseas Warriors.
Finally, this important draft event came to an end with the determination that the Kashmir Premier will be made a success in every possible way which will continue from August 6 to 17 in Muzaffarabad.
