PSL 6: Rizwan appointed captain of Multan Sultans

Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans has appointed Muhammad Rizwan, vice-captain of the national team and wicketkeeper-batsman, as captain for the sixth edition of the league.

Mohammad Rizwan, who represented Karachi Kings in the last edition, was hired by Multan Sultans this season and in view of his excellent performance for the Pakistan team, the Sultans have appointed him as their captain.

It is worth mentioning here that Rizwan was not given a single match by Karachi Kings last year and this year his services were given to Multan Sultans and in the new season this decision may prove to be detrimental to the defending champion team.

Alamgir Khan Tareen, owner of the Multan Sultans franchise, said that Rizwan has shown exemplary leadership skills not only for the Pakistan team but also for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in domestic cricket. In this edition we are very excited to have their services.

He said that we are grateful to Shaun Masood for his excellent leadership and victorious thinking in the team in the last edition.

Mohammad Rizwan thanked the Multan Sultans franchise for handing over the leadership post and said that his eyes are on the leadership of Multan Sultans in the coming season.

“I am aware of the innovative thinking that the franchise worked with last year and I am determined to play my part this year. The journey of Multan Sultans in the fifth edition of Pakistan Super League was good and I am Shahid Afridi,” he said. Taking advantage of the presence of seniors like Shaun Masood and Sohail Tanveer, I will try to make the team play better this time.

It should be noted that Mohammad Rizwan has been in excellent form for a long time and with his excellent performance, he became the first choice of the Pakistan national team.

He scored runs in difficult conditions, including Australia and New Zealand, and was recently named the best player in the Test and T20 series against South Africa.
