Srinagar / Islamabad: The Kashmir issue has forced 3.5 million Kashmiris to live as migrants since 1947.
A report released by the Research Section of the Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of World Refugee Day has revealed that thousands of Kashmiris have been illegally deported to India over the past seven decades due to Indian atrocities. Apart from occupied Jammu and Kashmir, I had to seek refuge in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Canada and other countries.
The report said that more than 40,000 Kashmiris have migrated in the last 31 years due to India’s persistent state terrorism and are forced to live outside the occupied territories as refugees and asylum seekers.
Meanwhile, a young man who was shot by Indian troops succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Srinagar on Friday.
Shahriar Afridi, chairman of the parliamentary Kashmir committee, has urged the international community to break its silence on the atrocities in Indian-occupied Kashmir and provide immediate medical facilities to Asiya Andrabi, the captive chairperson of Dakhtar-e-Millat.
