Muzaffarabad: The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has presented a tax free budget of Rs. 139.50 billion for the financial year 2020-21.
A meeting of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir in which Finance Minister Dr Muhammad Najeeb Naqi Khan presented the budget estimates for 2020-21.
One trillion 15 billion has been proposed in the budget for non-development budget while 24 billion 50 crore has been proposed for development expenditure. Revenue is estimated at Rs. 113.50 billion, which includes an estimate of Rs. 1.5 billion for capital expenditure.
The Finance Minister thanked the Government of Pakistan for providing funds despite the financial difficulties and said that an excellent budget has been prepared keeping in view the austerity measures, financial discipline and development of the Free Zone.
Saghir Chughtai, a member of the Muslim Conference, tried to speak on the point of order in the meeting, but the members of the Muslim Conference and PTI walked out as they did not get permission from the Speaker.
