All-rounder Shadab Khan, who suffered an injury during the tour of New Zealand, has been out of cricket for six weeks and has also been ruled out of the series against South Africa.
During the tour of New Zealand, Shadab Khan, who led the national team in the T20 series, suffered a thigh injury and an MRI scan of his injury was performed after the squad reached the tricolor.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board, Shadab Khan has a large grade tear in his left leg rectus femoris after which he has been advised to rest for at least 6 weeks.
PCB doctor Dr Sohail Saleem said that the MRI scan showed that Shadab Khan’s injury was not old but new.
Earlier, Shadab Khan could not participate in the home series against Zimbabwe due to injury.
Dr Sohail Saleem said: “We want to be cautious about this injury so we have recommended six weeks rest. The medical panel will continue to review Shadab’s injury after which there will be no final decision on his return to competitive cricket.” Will be decided
Despite the injury, Shadab will remain with the national team in New Zealand, where the PCB’s medical panel is continuing its rehabilitation program.
Due to this injury, Shadab Khan has been ruled out of not only the second Test match against New Zealand but also the home series against South Africa next month. The two-Test and three-T20 series between Pakistan and South Africa will be played from January 26 to February 14.
