Woman gives birth to baby on Emirates flight

A woman gives birth to a baby on an Emirati flight carrying Nigerians stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to the report of Khaleej Times, after being suspended in the air for half an hour, flight EK783 was landed back at Dubai International Airport but the passengers were sent away by another plane 4 hours later.

A spokesman for Emirates Airlines confirmed that a passenger on a flight from Dubai to Lagos gave birth to a baby, which resulted in the flight being diverted back to Dubai.

According to the report, the flight left Dubai at 10:55 am but landed back at Dubai International Airport 33 minutes later.

According to the Nigerian Foreign Ministry, 256 Nigerians stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been repatriated and arrived in Lagos from Dubai on May 6.

An estimated 4,000 Nigerians are still trapped in various parts of the world after the lockdown due to the corona virus.

The airline spokesman added: “For us, the safety of the passengers on the flight is the first priority and Emirati Airlines attaches great importance to its passengers.”

Regular flights were suspended due to the epidemic of Kwid 19, before the world’s largest airline from Dubai operated daily to Lagos, the capital of Nigeria.

As of June 30, Emirates Airlines is now operating limited passenger flights only for those returning to their destination from the UAE.
