Wuhan was the first city in the world to have a lockdown caused by the corona virus on January 23, 2002.

Initially, the city was partially closed by Chinese authorities, but later the city was completely locked down due to the rapid spread of the virus.

It was the deadliest lockdown in which Chinese authorities managed to contain the epidemic in two months, and March 19 was the first day no new cases were reported.

The lockdown was eased on March 22 after no case was reported for several days in a row.

In the last week of March, normalcy began to return to China, and now partially recreational and public places have been opened, while transport has been allowed to operate, including the resumption of air operations.

For the first time during the epidemic in China on April 7, there were no deaths from the corona virus, and the next day, April 8, the lockdown in Wuhan was completely abolished.
