On the Line of Control (LoC), the Indian army launched a heavy shelling in violation of the ceasefire agreement, which resulted in the death of four civilians.

The Indian Army opened indiscriminate firing with heavy weapons in base and knife villages, killing four innocent civilians, including a 15-year-old girl, DGISPR said.

The statement said that Pak army personnel responded strongly to India’s provocation and targeted the military checkpoints where the shootings took place.
During the four months of this year, the Indian Army violated the ceasefire agreement 708 times, resulting in 42 civilian casualties and 2 martyrs, the DGISPR said.

It is understood that an agreement was signed by Pakistan and Indian forces in 2003 for ceasefire, but nevertheless, ceasefire violations are still ongoing.

In 2019, 59 people, including women and children, were killed and 200 were injured as a result of ceasefire violations by the Indian Army.
