According to Iranian state media, President Hassan Rouhani, responding to his US counterpart’s statement, said that Iran never takes the initiative in aggression, but that we have the full capacity and capability to defend ourselves, which is also our right.
Addressing the US President, President Hassan Rouhani said that we do not want to create any new conflict in the region but we consider it necessary to point out that US activities in the region are being closely monitored and any aggression is immediate and destructive.
