Five foreign players, including Faf du Plessis, became part of the Pakistan Super League

Five more foreign cricketers, including legendary South African batsmen Faf du Plessis and Fawad Ahmed, have become part of the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Colin Monroe, Chris Jordan, Race Topley and Liam Livingston will not be a full or part of the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League and will be replaced by Faf du Plessis, Fawad Ahmed, Paul Sterling, Ali Khan and Tom Kohler Cadmore respectively. Has been added to the squad.

In the league, which starts on February 20, the franchises have chosen to replace the players who are not available due to international engagements.

Islamabad United have added three while Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi have added one foreign player each to their squad as substitutes.

Representing Peshawar Zalmi in the play-off matches of the fifth edition of Pakistan Super League, Faf Dupleix has become a part of Quetta Gladiators in the 2021 edition.

The South African cricketer has been named in the league in place of Chris Gayle for a few matches.

On the other hand, Islamabad United has replaced New Zealand’s Colin Monroe with Australian spinner Fawad Ahmed in the squad.

Fawad Ahmed has previously represented Quetta Gladiators in the league.

Colin Monroe will not be available to Islamabad United due to isolation restrictions in New Zealand due to Covid 19.

Similarly, Islamabad United have included Ali Khan of the United States in their squad to replace England’s Race Topley as a substitute. Race Topley has been included in the England squad announced for the tour of India due to which They will not be able to participate in the PSL.

England fast bowler Chris Jordan will no longer be available for Islamabad United due to the tour of India and Paul Sterling of Ireland has been included in the squad in his place.

Liam Livingston will also not be available for Peshawar Zalmi due to England’s tour of India and Tom Cadmore has been included in the squad in his place. Livingston has represented Quetta Gladiators in 2018.

The matches of the sixth edition of Pakistan Super League will be held in Lahore and Karachi and the opening match of the event will be played on February 20 between defending champions Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators.

The final of the event will be held on March 22 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
