The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed match officials for the Pakistan Super League 2021 in which several local officials, including foreigners, will perform their duties.
The seven members of the PCB Elite Panel of Umpires, including Aleem Dar, Richard Ellingworth and Michael Gough, who are members of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), will also officiate in the league.
The seven local umpires in the matches in Karachi and Lahore include Asif Yaqub, Ahsan Raza, Faisal Khan Afridi, Imran Javed, Rashid Riaz, Shozaib Raza and Zameer Haider.
Ali Naqvi, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Anis and Mohammad Javed Malik, former members of the ICC Elite Panel of Referees and members of the PCB Elite Panel of Referees, will lead the playing control team in 34 matches of the tournament.
Aleem Dar and Ahsan Raza will be the field umpires in the opening match of the event, Rashid Riaz has been appointed as the third umpire and Asif Yaqub as the fourth umpire while Roshan Mahnama will officiate the match.
The opening match of the event will be played on February 20 at the National Stadium Karachi, where defending champions Karachi Kings and 2019 winners Quetta Gladiators will compete.
The event qualifiers, two eliminators and umpires and match referees for the final will be appointed a few days before these matches.
The day matches in the event will start at 2 pm and the night matches at 7 pm, the first match of the scheduled double header on Friday will start at 3 pm and the second at 8 pm.
