Srinagar: Five Indian Army personnel, including a colonel and a major, were killed in an attack by gunmen in Kupwara district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, five persons, including a colonel and a major, were killed in an attack by armed men in Kupwara district of the occupied valley, including a policeman.

According to Kashmir Media Service, an operation was going on by Indian forces in Handwara while unknown persons opened fire while two Kashmiri people were also martyred by Indian forces after the incident.

After the incident, a heavy contingent of Indian forces has been called in the area and a search operation is underway to find the attackers by laying siege to the area.
