The Sultan halts his troops and commands the Alps to be taken into custody.
Without creating any further commotion, Osman and his wife begin to make their way into the dungeon. Bengi arrives and begins shouting as Ismihan is entering. Ismihan claims she wants to speak privately with Bengi. Aisha claims that she failed to locate anything in Marta’s store. Ismihan is the target of Bengi’s ire as she is asked why she brought Olof. Ismihan claims to be in control of Olof and that she will use him to murder Osman. After a brief moment of agitation, Bengi announces that she will wait.
Sultan requests the Sheikh to remain in the fortress and promises to escort Aladdin to Konya. Sultan’s offer is rejected by the Sheikh, who asserts that Aladdin won’t travel without Osman’s approval. The Vizier starts to talk after the Sheikh exits the fortress and admits that he is also responsible. Sultan promises that, for the time being, he won’t do anything to the Sheikh in order to appease the Turkish border guards. Osman spends a significant amount of time in the prison praying and pleading with Allah for assistance.
Osman asserts that Konya is waning and that the Sultan is merely attempting to conceal the fact. After Osman is put to death, Sultan declares he will take Aladdin to Konya. The Sultan is immediately met with opposition by Osman, who asserts that Aladdin cannot be taken by force. Malhun learns what transpired in the castle when Sheikh arrives back in the city. Malhun tells her boys to keep the city safe and promises to come up with a strategy to save Osman.
