LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and national cricket team’s batting coach Younis Khan have parted ways by mutual consent.
Younis Khan was appointed batting coach for two years in November last year. Wasim Khan, chief executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board, said it was sad to lose a man as tall and experienced as Younis Khan. After lengthy consultations, the two sides have decided to part ways by mutual consent. He acknowledges the services of Younis Khan as the short-term batting coach of the national cricket team and hopes that he will be available to the PCB in the future to exchange his experience and ability.
The PCB and Younis Khan have agreed to refrain from commenting further on the matter. Therefore, the services of batting coach will not be available to the national cricket team in the tour of England. However, the decision to replace Younis Khan for the tour of West Indies will be taken in due course.
The national cricket team’s tour of England is scheduled from June 25 to July 20. The tour includes 3 ODIs and 3 T20 Internationals. The national cricket team will leave for the West Indies on July 21, where it will play five Twenty20 and two Test matches till August 24.
