Actress Resham, who was recently nominated for the Pride of Performance Award by the government of Pakistan for her outstanding performance, has for the first time clarified why she supported Ali Zafar after the allegations of Mesha Shafi.
At the same time, Resham has for the first time explained why she criticized playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, where she had supported Ali Zafar despite allegations of sexual harassment.
Actress Resham, who started acting at the age of just 16 or 17 after 1990, told Dawn Icon why she supported Ali Zafar instead of Mesha Shafi despite being a woman.

The actress said that she has known Ali Zafar for the last two decades and she has never seen him talking immorally or flirting with any woman.

According to Resham, she also knows Ali Zafar’s wife well, while he also has a good relationship with actress Saba Hameed, the mother of singer Mesha Shafi.
Resham said that she had attended Mesha Shafi’s wedding and she also had a lot of respect for him but since he had never seen Ali Zafar insulting a woman, he supported her.

Resham revealed that the singers themselves were shocked to support Ali Zafar and said that many people were not supporting him out of fear.
The actress said that she is not afraid of anyone, she only fears God.

In response to another question, Resham explained why he had criticized playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.
Resham said that although she had worked with Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and appreciated her work, she was a person who did not respect women, so she criticized him.
According to Resham, Khalil-ur-Rehman works with the women he criticizes and earns money from their hard work.
Referring to an incident, he said that he was surprised at Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar when he claimed at a function that Resham and his sister had come to apologize to him.

During the interview, Resham also talked about kinship in Hollywood and said that in the past, when his career was at its peak, a filmmaker who married an actress, only started giving him every film.
Resham said that after the filmmaker gave the role of films to his wife, he withdrew from films and turned to TV.
Referring to not being seen on screen for a long time, Resham said that she still has job offers, but she only works on the project that she likes.
After receiving the Pride of Performance Award from the President of Pakistan, he said that he had received a call from Pakistan Television (PTV) two and a half months ago and was asked for a copy of his identity card and was told his name. Sending for Pride of Performance.
