After being shut down for a few days, Pakistan’s first original web series ‘Churails’ was re-released to Pakistani viewers on the Indian streaming website ‘Zee Five’.
The web series’ Churails’ was shut down in Pakistan on Zee Five a few days ago for unknown reasons, as reported by the series’ director Asim Abbasi in several tweets on October 7.

Asim Abbasi had said in his series of tweets that surprisingly, the web series which is being praised all over the world, was closed in his own country.
Asim Abbasi had termed the closure of ‘Churails’ in Pakistan as not only detrimental to filmmakers, actors and artists, but also to women, the enlightened class and platforms such as streaming sites for financial betterment. It was also said to be harmful to creative people who resort to it.
On October 7, just a few hours after the closure of the web series in Pakistan, the trend of witches remained on top on Twitter and the general fans also expressed their anger over the closure of the series in Pakistan.
Later, when the web series was shut down in Pakistan, several personalities also recorded their protest on social media.

Regarding the closure of the web series, the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) had said that it had contacted Zee Five after several complaints regarding the said web series and did not block the web series in Pakistan itself.
PTA officials did not say what instructions they had given to Zee Five, but now the web series has been re-released on a web streaming channel in Pakistan.
Asim Abbasi, the director of the web series, shared a photo of a scene from “Churails” in his Instagram post and confirmed that the series has been re-released in Pakistan.

Asim Abbasi expressed happiness over the re-release of ‘Churails’ and also mentioned the picture of the scene he shared and said that the picture was taken by actress Hina Bayat, who has done a great job in ‘Churails
At the same time, Asim Abbasi also issued an explanatory statement regarding the closure and re-release of ‘Chirils’ in Pakistan by Zee Five.
A statement from Zee Five said that they had received instructions from the PTA and that they had acted on it and now re-released “churails”.
Z5 did not elaborate on what PTA had instructed it to do and what steps it would take to release the web series.
However, fans believe that it may have been re-released after the release of Bold and Controversial Scenes of ‘churails.

While Asim Abbasi expressed happiness over the re-release of ‘Churails’, many fans also termed it as a success for the enlightened class and showbiz industry.
It may be recalled that ‘Churails’ was released online on Zee Five’s Life Channel on August 11 this year.
The story of “Witchcraft” revolves around four women who become spies after the infidelity of their husbands, who are seen risking their lives to save the lives of other women like her in the series.
The web series shows the four women exposing their cheating husbands.

In the web series, Sarwat Gilani has played the role of Sara, Yasira Rizvi has played the role of Jagnu, Nimra Bacha has played the role of Batool and Mehrabano has played the role of Zubeida and in the web series, women belonging to these four different fields have been portrayed as a gang.
This was the first season of the web series, which was much appreciated and its creators hinted at making other seasons as well.
