Violation of protocols, Naseem Shah out of PSL 6

LAHORE: Quetta Gladiators fast bowler Naseem Shah has been released from the isolation set up at a local hotel in Lahore for violating protocols for departure from Pakistan.

Naseem Shah will no longer be able to leave for Abu Dhabi on May 26 due to the submission of an unacceptable PCR test report, so he has been ruled out of the tournament.

All passengers departing from Karachi and Lahore on a chartered flight to Abu Dhabi under the Coveted 19 protocols for the remaining matches of the HBL Pakistan Super League 6 will be allowed a maximum on May 24 when entering the Lahore and Karachi team hotels. He had to submit the report of his Coveid 19 test given 48 hours ago but Naseem Shah submitted the report of his Coveed 19 test given on May 18 on this occasion. Upon submission of the old report, he was kept in isolation on a separate floor of the hotel, after which it was decided to release him on the recommendations of the three-member Independent Medical Advisory Panel for PSL.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director Commercial PCB Babar Hamid said, “We are not proud to stop the fast bowler from participating in our important event but if we ignore this violation, we will probably cover the entire event.” We would like to commend the Quetta Gladiators for accepting this decision, which proves that we are all together to implement the prescribed protocols.

“With this decision, we want to send a clear message to all those involved in the rest of the league that the PCB will not compromise on any kind of violation. We will not allow any player involved in the violation or We will not shy away from taking action against the sports staff. Babar Hamid said that all the participants in the event should understand that all these protocols developed by the PCB protect the credibility of the event and the health and safety of all the participants. Are designed to ensure, so it is our responsibility to implement all of these protocols.
