Trump refuses to concede defeat, son-in-law meets to persuade

Washington: President Trump is not ready to concede defeat to Democratic candidate Joe Biden, despite his clear victory.

It should be noted that the tradition of the American electoral system has been that after the election results are announced, even if the President is participating in the election and has been defeated, he makes announcements regarding the recognition of the results and the transfer of power. Although the election results are officially announced on December 14, the newly elected president takes the oath of office in January.

Trump is the first US president in 28 years not to be re-elected. Earlier, in 1992, when senior Bush failed to get re-elected and lost to Bill Clinton, he acknowledged the results and congratulated them, acknowledging his opponent’s abilities.
Now, however, it is Trump who is known for his arrogance and bad temper. He then started accusing the election of rigging, vote-rigging and tampering with the results.

President Trump had announced during his campaign that he would not allow an easy transfer of power in the event of a defeat. As a result of these announcements, the question has been circulating in the American media and political circles that what will happen if Trump refuses to leave the White House?

Reports are circulating in the world media about Trump’s aides in the White House and senior members of his Republican party that Trump is not ready to accept the election results at this time.

Trump has already announced that he will start a legal battle over the election results from Monday. According to a foreign news agency, the Republican Party has begun raising 6 60 million for litigation in various states, including recounts and challenging their legitimacy.

A Trump adviser told a foreign news agency that initially White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows could have persuaded the president, but that he had difficulty communicating because of the corona virus. CNN claims that Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kishner has met to persuade him to hand over power in a dignified manner.

A former White House spokesman said President Trump had a right to be given time to muster the courage to concede defeat. The result comes after a fork in the road, so it would be better for the country to give President Trump a fair amount of time to acknowledge those results.
