The new type of OmeCron is no more dangerous than the “original” variant, the World Health Organization

GENEVA: The World Health Organization (WHO) says a new subtype of the novel coronavirus ‘Omecron variant’, BA.2, is spreading rapidly but is no more dangerous than the original Omecron variant (BA.1).

It should be noted that a new sub-variant of the Omekron variant (sub variant) first appeared in November 2021 almost simultaneously from several countries, which was named ‘BA2’.

This variant has so far reached thousands of people in at least 57 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Australia and Norway.
The World Health Organization (WHO) said in its latest report on the new sub variant that there were more than 60 mutations on the original Omicron variant, while there were about 85 changes at the BA2 level.

Due to these changes, it is capable of spreading 1.5 times faster than the original Omakron variant.

However, the attack is usually less severe than that of the original Omicron, with fewer need to hospitalize or transport the affected person to a ventilator, while the death toll is as high as the actual Omicron. Has already been seen.

According to the World Health Organization, the BA2 sub variant can infect people who have been vaccinated, but its attack on those people can often have very small effects.
