The names of 10 Pakistani universities are also included in the world rankings

LAHORE: Pakistan’s 10 public and private sector universities have maintained their position in the QS World University Rankings 2022 with slight improvements.

There are 3 universities in the 355-500 rank band, one in 651-700, three in 801-1000 and several in 1001 and above.

National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Islamabad has retained the top position among Pakistani universities in the QS World University Rankings, which is at 355th rank.

Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) is next with 373rd rank, while Quaid-e-Azam University is third with 454th rank.

Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is between 651-700 ranking while Comcast University Islamabad, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore and Punjab University are between 801-1000 ranking.

In addition, Agricultural University Faisalabad, Karachi University and Lahore University are included in the ranking above 1000.

QS rankings take into account academic performance (40%), employee performance (10%), student and faculty rate (20%), international faculty rate (5%) and foreign student rate (5%) Is configured.

The QS World University Rankings rank the university as published annually by the British company Coquarelli Symonds (QS).

The 2022 edition covered 1,673 universities in 93 locations and eventually ranked 1,300.

Only 10 educational institutions in Pakistan are included in this list.

It should be noted that Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) only recognizes the ranking of QS World University.

Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof. Niaz Ahmed claimed that the QS World Ranking of the University has improved by 16 places in the year 2022.

He said that this university is ranked among the 61.6% universities in the world and this is a significant achievement.

He said that the number of research publications in the university has increased due to the promotion of research culture and for the first time in its history, the university has allocated a hefty amount of Rs. 38 crore for research.

He also lauded Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Chairman of the University’s Ranking Committee, for his efforts to improve the university’s ranking.
