The government extended the nationwide lockdown until May 9

The federal government has extended the nationwide lockdown due to the corona virus until May 9.

Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Planning and Head of National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), said during a media briefing that the meeting of the National Coordination Committee was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan. It was decided to keep it till.

He said that the month of Ramadan is beginning in which there will be no load shedding in Sahar and Iftar across the country as per the directive of the Prime Minister and a notification from the Power Division will be issued soon.

He said that the biggest welfare work of Pakistan’s history is being carried out under the name of Ehsas Emergency Relief Program. Under the program, Rs 69 billion has been distributed among 5.7 million families so far.

It was estimated to reach one crore families and Rs 144 billion was to be distributed. Almost half of the program has been completed and it will continue in Ramadan
