The best way to prevent or even reverse diabetes

Diabetes is considered to be an incurable disease which can be controlled with the help of medicine and lifestyle but it is not possible to get rid of it completely.

However, weight loss can be achieved by preventing or reversing diabetes.

This was revealed in a new medical study.

It should be noted that in 2019, there were more than 460 million diabetic patients worldwide, of which 90% are type 2 diabetics.

Diabetes increases the risk of heart disease, stroke and kidney disease, while obesity is considered to be the leading cause of type 2 diabetes, while some genetic factors also cause it.

“Because we are born with genes, it is possible to predict lifelong diabetes,” said Professor Brian Francis, who co-authored the study with the University of Cambridge in the UK and the University of Milan in Italy.

“In this study, we looked at how body weight can increase the risk of diabetes, along with hereditary risk,” he said.

About 4.5 million people were included in the study, with an average age of 57 years and 54% of them women.

In order to analyze the inherited risk of diabetes, 6.9 million genes were analyzed, while height and weight were also examined.

These individuals were divided into 5 groups according to their body weight and then evaluated for several more years, during which more than 31,000 were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

The researchers found that people who were overweight had an 11-fold higher risk of developing diabetes.

That is, the higher the body weight, the greater the risk of developing diabetes, regardless of the genetic risks.

The researchers said that the results indicate that body weight is the most powerful factor in predicting diabetes compared to genetic factors.

He added that prolonged obesity also increases the risk of diabetes.

He said that most cases of diabetes can be prevented by keeping the body weight at a healthy level which can control the rise in blood sugar levels.

According to research, screening for body weight and blood sugar should be normalized to prevent diabetes, while efforts to reduce body weight should begin when blood sugar begins to rise.

Researchers also say that it is possible to reverse diabetes in the early stages by reducing body weight
