KABUL: A suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden truck into a guest house in Afghanistan’s Logar province as passengers were breaking their fast there, killing 30 people and injuring 60 others.
A suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden truck into a guest house in Afghanistan’s Logar Province, killing 30 people and wounding 60, according to the International News Agency. Most of the dead and injured were students who had come to take the university entrance test.
Before entering, the driver of the truck told security personnel that he belonged to an NGO and had brought supplies for the students. The truck exploded as it entered.
The bomber struck shortly after noon as students were breaking their fast at a guest house. The official guest house of the suicide bomber is provided free of cost to the poor, passengers and students.
The suicide bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of mourners. Most of the passengers were students, while some security personnel were also stationed there. The blast also severely damaged nearby buildings.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
