Sonia Hussain annoyed by the ongoing debate on ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’

Pakistani showbiz personalities have been debating the issue of airing foreign dramas, especially ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’, on Pakistan Television (PTV) since its inception in Pakistan.

Ertugrul Ghazi was angered by some showbiz personalities when he was aired on PTV and he has been criticized for his statements on various actors.

Among the Pakistani actors who criticized Ertugrul Ghazi for airing on a state-run channel was Yasir Hussain. He also opposed the appointment of a brand ambassador.

He has also been criticized for over-appreciating Ertugrul Ghazi and his cast in Pakistan, and more recently, he has once again vaguely criticized Turkish actors.

Recently, the discussion about Ertugrul Ghazi started when Yasir Hussain in his Instagram story shared a photo of 2 Pakistani youths dressed as the main characters of Ertugrul Ghazi and had a photo shoot without naming the Turkish actors.

Yasir Hussain, while sharing a picture of Pakistanis in the guise of Turkish drama characters, wrote that those in the picture would “no one ask them, because the house is equal to chicken lentils and the garbage outside is also equal to wealth”.

Later on Yasir Hussain’s statement and then Anusha Ashraf’s response he was further criticized which the actor also explained but at the same time he also satirized the critics.

However, now actress Sonia Hussain wrote in her Instagram story about the ongoing debate on Turkish drama that she is fed up with the ongoing debate on ‘Ertugrul’.

Sonia Hussain wrote, “Please spare the lives of Turkish actors and your own actors.”

He wrote that people should learn to appreciate people and not to show humiliation. At the same time, Sonia Hussain wrote that they should be gentle and speak with love.

The story of the play “Ertugrul” pre-dates the rise of the Ottoman Empire in the 13th century and revolves around a brave Muslim general named Ertugrul, also known as “Ertugrul Ghazi”.

The play shows how in the 13th century the Turkish general Ertugrul bravely fought the Mongols, the Crusaders and the oppressors and maintained his winning streak.

The play depicts Ertugrul’s pre-Ottoman rule, bravery and love.
