Indian singer Neha Bhasan, 38, who rose to fame by singing the songs of renowned Pakistani singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Atif Aslam and Fareeha Pervez, has revealed that she has been sexually abused several times in her life.
The singer, who evoked the magic of sound in several songs including Atif Aslam’s song ‘Dil Diyan Galan’, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s ‘Jag Ghomia’ and Fareeha Pervez’s Punjabi song ‘Long Gawacha’, died in a recent interview. He also spoke openly about the threats of ‘rape’.

According to the Indian newspaper DNA India, in an interview given to the news agency, Neha Bhasan described the incidents of dangerous sexual exploitation that happened to her, however, she did not mention any sexual harassment by any Bollywood personality.

Singer Neha Bhasan, while talking about the incidents of sexual exploitation that happened to her, said that when she was just 10 years old, she was exploited during religious services in Haridwar, a city important to Hindus.
The singer recalled the incident and said that she was engaged in worship with her mother, but her mother was at a distance from her when a man touched her badly.

The singer said that the incident affected her mental health and she could not recover from the trauma for a long time.
Neha Bhasan further said that she was sexually abused by a man in a crowded hall.
According to the singer, a man touched her breast in the hall and she still remembers the incident.
According to Neha Bhasan, her exploitation did not end there, but she also faced online harassment several times, even receiving death and rape threats.

According to the singer, who is constantly trolled on social media for her bold clothes and performances, once she praised a singer, fans of the Korean musical band publicly raped and threatened her with death.
Although Neha Bhasan spoke openly about her sexual exploitation in the interview, she did not mention any incident which shows that she has been harassed even during her professional career.
Neha Bhasan started her career singing in Tamil and Telugu films in 2007, but in 2008 she also sang in Bollywood for Interdi and Priyanka Chopra’s film Fashion.
Neha Bhasan has also won several musical awards, including Best Punjabi Singer at the Filmfare, but she has yet to win a major award for any Bollywood song.
Neha Bhasan is mostly known for singing the songs of her heroines in Salman Khan’s films and she has been singing per mail version of most of the songs sung by Pakistani singers.
